You are the substance of consciousness - Ashtavakra Gita

You are the substance of consciousness. The world is You. Who is it that thinks he can accept or reject it? And where does he stand? - Ashtavakra Gita

Does this world exist exactly as you perceive?
Every atom in this world, be it of gold or iron, carbon or oxygen – is made up of the same particles. The difference is only in their numbers. The fundamental building blocks of all materials in this world are the same. The difference is only when it is interpreted in your mind. Does this world exist exactly as you perceive? Where do you figure in this? And who are you?

The coin - the name and form - is irretrievably lost - never to be re-born
What is born, the objective body, will, in due course, die; thereafter it will be dissolved, i.e., irrevocably annihilated. The life-force will leave the body and mingle with the air outside. The objective part of what was once a sentient being will be destroyed, never to be re-born as the same body. And consciousness is not an object, not a "thing" at all. Therefore, consciousness, as something non-objective, cannot be born, cannot die and certainly cannot be re-born.
- Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.
● I have a gold coin. I melt it and make a ring.
● Though the gold has not changed, will it now have any of the features of the coin?
● If the coin was antique, will the ring also be antique?
● The coin - the name and form is the identity superimposed on the gold.
● Will it be known as the rebirth of the coin? The coin is no more.
● The coin - the name and form - is irretrievably lost.
● This is the case of your identity too. It is a superimposed concept.
● It is not born, and cannot be re-born.

The complete steps to self realization
Indeed there is no such thing as "enlightenment". The apperception of this fact is itself enlightenment!
All paths lead to unreality. Paths are creations within the scope of knowledge. Therefore, paths and movements cannot transport you into Reality, because their function is to enmesh you within the dimension of knowledge, while the Reality prevails prior to it.

There are three kinds of people in a “spiritual” train journey
There are three kinds of people in a “spiritual” train journey. 1. The "normal" person, who is just bothered about his family, food, and sleep. He is not worried about other issues in the train, yet he reaches the destination just as anyone else do. 2. The "so-called-spiritual" person, who is eager to know about the mechanisms, rules, systems, and categories of locomotives, the expertise of the pilot, the meaning of signals, etc. He then strives to get a thorough understanding of that. There may be “masters” who would explain that to him, and perhaps would get satisfied in becoming proficient enough. Still, he too reaches the destination, just as anyone else do. 3. Now, the “rarest” one, who understands in depth that the destination is bound to reach, irrespective of any action, and that any inquiry is futile. He enjoys his journey, calmly observing the landscape through the window, yet fully aware that the journey had never commenced.

One who has transcended the body idea does not need the ananda - Nisargadatta Maharaj
Because you want some satisfaction according to your own concepts, you try to qualify unalloyed bliss. The term "ananda" (bliss) has significance only when it signifies that the bodily beingness is available to experience it. One who has transcended the body idea does not need the ananda. - Nisargadatta Maharaj

I is a Door - Zen Publications
The essence of Advaita as taught by
Ramana Maharshi, Atmananda & Nisargadatta Maharaj
By Philip Renard
‘I’, has been used so adeptly as a pointer to the Ultimate Truth by the greatest Advaita teachers?
The three teachers discussed in this book – Ramana Maharshi, Atmananda and Nisargadatta Maharaj – steer clear from all religious dogma, therefore making their teachings especially suitable for both westerners and easterners. These three may be considered as ‘the Big Three’ of the twentieth-century Advaita Vedanta. They are the ones who distilled Advaita to the heart of the matter: direct recognition of your true nature. All three of them used the word ‘I’ as an integral term to point to the Ultimate Principle: the first two spoke in terms of ‘I-I’ and ‘I-Principle’ respectively, and Nisargadatta offered his two-step approach of ‘I am’ and ‘I, the Absolute’. With this they showed that the way is a direct way in the first place, a way that cannot be found anywhere else than within you, with the direct experience of ‘I’. Probably no other teacher or writer, from East or West, has investigated the truth of what ‘I’ really is, as thoroughly as these three spiritual giants.
