There are three kinds of people in a “spiritual” train journey

There are three kinds of people in a “spiritual” train journey. 1. The "normal" person, who is just bothered about his family, food, and sleep. He is not worried about other issues in the train, yet he reaches the destination just as anyone else do. 2. The "so-called-spiritual" person, who is eager to know about the mechanisms, rules, systems, and categories of locomotives, the expertise of the pilot, the meaning of signals, etc. He then strives to get a thorough understanding of that. There may be “masters” who would explain that to him, and perhaps would get satisfied in becoming proficient enough. Still, he too reaches the destination, just as anyone else do. 3. Now, the “rarest” one, who understands in depth that the destination is bound to reach, irrespective of any action, and that any inquiry is futile. He enjoys his journey, calmly observing the landscape through the window, yet fully aware that the journey had never commenced.

One who has transcended the body idea does not need the ananda - Nisargadatta Maharaj

Because you want some satisfaction according to your own concepts, you try to qualify unalloyed bliss. The term "ananda" (bliss) has significance only when it signifies that the bodily beingness is available to experience it. One who has transcended the body idea does not need the ananda. - Nisargadatta Maharaj

I is a Door - Zen Publications

I’ is a Door
The essence of Advaita as taught by
Ramana Maharshi, Atmananda & Nisargadatta Maharaj
By Philip Renard

Isn’t it amazing that our most commonly-used word,
‘I’, has been used so adeptly as a pointer to the Ultimate Truth by the greatest Advaita teachers?

The three teachers discussed in this book – Ramana Maharshi, Atmananda and Nisargadatta Maharaj – steer clear from all religious dogma, therefore making their teachings especially suitable for both westerners and easterners. These three may be considered as ‘the Big Three’ of the twentieth-century Advaita Vedanta. They are the ones who distilled Advaita to the heart of the matter: direct recognition of your true nature. All three of them used the word ‘I’ as an integral term to point to the Ultimate Principle: the first two spoke in terms of ‘I-I’ and ‘I-Principle’ respectively, and Nisargadatta offered his two-step approach of ‘I am’ and ‘I, the Absolute’. With this they showed that the way is a direct way in the first place, a way that cannot be found anywhere else than within you, with the direct experience of ‘I’. Probably no other teacher or writer, from East or West, has investigated the truth of what ‘I’ really is, as thoroughly as these three spiritual giants.

About Nisargadatta Maharaj

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj was an Indian spiritual teacher and philosopher of Advaita (Nondualism), and a Guru, belonging to the Navnath Sampradaya. Sri Nisargadatta, with his direct and minimalistic explanation of non-dualism, is considered the most famous teacher of Advaita since Ramana Maharshi. In 1973, the publication of his most famous and widely-translated book, "I AM THAT", an English translation of his talks in Marathi by Maurice Frydman, brought him worldwide recognition and followers.

According to Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, the purpose of spirituality is simply to know who you are. His discussions are not for academic scholars. He is a rebellious spirit, abrupt in his style of discussion, provocative, and immensely profound, cutting to the core and wasting little effort on inessentials. He talked about the 'direct way' of knowing the Final Reality, in which one becomes aware of one's original nature through mental discrimination, breaking the mind's false identification with the ego, knowing that "You are already That".
